    Für die Isländer ist es relativ einfach so was duchzusetzen. Von 346.750 Einwohnern haben vielleicht 1000 eine Religion die Beschneidungen praktiziert.

    Da gibt es kaum Widerstand.

    Es kommt halt auch immer auf die Religion an.
    Z.B. der § 218a StGB wurde Anfang der 60er 70er gegen den energischen Widerstand der katholischen Kirche erlassen. Jener Religionsgemeinschaft gehörten damals rd. 27 Millionen Menschen in der alten Bundesrepublik an.
    Und 2012 wurde wegen einer kleinen Minderheit ein Gesetz erlassen, das von rd. 57 Mio. Menschen hierzulande abgelehnt wird.
    Es kommt halt auch immer auf die Religion an.

    Es ist doch irgendwie bezeichnend für unsere VG-Wort-gepamperte deutschsprachige "Qualitätspresse", dass sie es ausgerechnet RT Deutschland überlässt, (durchaus sachlich) über die Entwicklung in Island in deutscher Sprache zu berichten.

    Bloß keine "heiklen Themen" aufbringen!

    Kein Wunder, wenn man bedenkt, wie ein Großteil der Presse sich 2012 positioniert hatte.

    The biggest concern that would need to be addressed is how religious individuals cope with this, as we would not wish to have rogue circumcisions that later would not get medical attention if they develop complications.
    I hope that the age for consent would not be set as younger than 18, because 13-15 year old boys would be subject to too much pressure from their families.
