Wie sich das doch alles ähnelt

  • Zitat

In this study, I argue that indeed female circumcision is part of the Sabiny culture and it is their right to preserve it. However, given the dangers and risks that are associated with the practice, I propose that both government and the Sabiny community should come to a round table and discuss alternative cultural practices that can serve as rites of passage for the girl child without putting her life at risk, and to put into consideration the girl child’s future.

Hört sich stark nach einer Art 1631d an. Beim Facharzt, mit Narkose, unter hygienischen Bedingungen - dann ist ja nicht mehr so sehr " life at risk", vielleicht schneiden's wir auch a bisserl weniger... (würg) - denn es ist ja Kultur! Und wie kann man gegen Kultur sein?

    Ich würde folgenden Slogan vorschlagen:

"Sabinysches Leben muss in Uganda weiter möglich sein!"

    Genial, gell? ;)

PS: Seit wann argumentiert man eigentlich in einer "Studie"?

Indeed, as the history of female circumcision suggests, if male circumcision
were confined to developing nations, it would by now have emerged as an in-
ternational cause celebre, stirring passionate opposition from feminists, physicians, politicians, and the global human rights community. If routine medical
circumcision didn't exist today, no one would dare to invent it.
