The debate whether to remove the foreskin of infant boys' penises had partly been settled in Sweden and Denmark, following the strong recommendation of a ban on non-medical circumcision of male newborns.
However, circumcision would still be allowed if the boy reaches the age of 12 and he consents to the procedure considered a rite of manhood in many cultures. The recommendation is contained in a resolution approved by majority members of the Sweden Medical Association which covers about 85 per cent of doctors in Sweden.

Bei diesem wie auch einigen anderen jüdischen Autoren gewinnt man den Eindruck, ihr Hauptthema sei die ständige Entlarvung von antisemitischen Strömungen allerorten. Wie sie hinter jeder kritischen Äußerung sogleich infamen, versteckten oder offenen Antisemitismus hervorkratzen, das hat schon einen regelrecht rituellen Charakter und ist zudem oft nicht frei von Selbstbejammerung. Fast erscheint es so, als bräuchten diese Autoren sowohl echten als auch erfundenen Antisemitismus zur Aufrechterhaltung ihrer eigenen Identität. Man sollte solche Kommentare deshalb für das nehmen, was sie sind: das nach dem Mund reden - oder besser das nach dem Auge schreiben - einer bestimmten Leserklientel. Nicht jedoch als eine ernsthafte Diskussionsgrundlage.

Das ist das rummsfeldsche Old Europe! Obwohl, Polen hat gerade ... und das war doch "New Europe"? So schnell gealtert?
Wir sind hier so rückständig, geradezu im finsteren Mittelalter, wir haben hier sogar noch die Todesstrafe, ooops....
Ja so ist das halt, die USA, the land of the free (wo Menschen weder ein Recht auf Leben noch auf Selbstbestimmung über ihre körperliche Vollständigkeit haben) - und Europa, der ewig finstere Kontinent der Hitlers und Stalins...
So ein Mist aber auch, dass die Dänen und Schweden nicht die Gaskammern gebaut haben, dass sie sogar noch so viele Juden gerettet haben! Sonst - wär's perfekt!Und irgendwie seltsam, dass Berlin bei jungen Israelis so "hip" ist, dass in den letzten Jahren zehntausende Israelis nach Berlin gezogen sind, mitten in die finsterer Hölle des finsteren Europas!
