Die Prüfung der Qualifikation von Ärzten obliegt dem Staat und außer Ärzten (in der Regel machen das Fachärzte) sollte niemand blutige Operationen durchführen dürfen.

Was fehlt gänzlich in jenem Artikel? Wer hat's gemerkt?

(Von der kulturimperialistischen Massenverstümmelungskampagne in Afrika abgesehen): Eltern "außerhalb der Religion" lassen ihre Söhne nicht wegen der nicht vorhandenen medizinischen Vorteile verstümmeln (wenn die Vorhaut für Männer nachteilig wäre gäbe es sie nicht) - sondern "weil der Papi auch so ist" (ersatzweise der Opi). Ein Opfer-Täter-Kreislauf.

Die EU-Kommission hat sich zu Wort gemeldet. Leider nicht im Sinne des Kinderschutzes.

"Long standing Traditions" dazu gehört ja einiges. Z.B. auch, was Mädchen betrifft.

Long standing Traditions waren auch Sklaverei, Verfolgung von Homosexuellen, Beschneidung von Mädchen, Steinigung von Ehebrecherinnen, dass das "Weib" dem Manne Untertan sei - alle abgeschafft bzw verboten.

Eine fehlt noch, ist überfällig.

Wenigstens wird zugegeben, dass diese Tradition auch immer wieder Jungen umbringt. Und die Staaten schauen darüber hinweg. Was soll sich daran ändern, wenn nicht mal die Staaten die Qualifikation von Personen, die potentiell lebensgefährliche Operationen ausführen überwacht? Im übrigen sterben auch in Arztpraxen und Krankenhäusern Jungen in Folge von medizinisch nicht notwendigen Zirkumzisionen.

Das Grundproblem ist, dass gesunde Kinder ohne rationalen Grund verletzt werden.

"High medical standards"? Das wäre "Primum non nocere"!
