The researchers found Britons "hold a strong stance against religious practices that are perceived to conflict with liberal values". This includes religious courts like sharia councils (69% oppose), ritual circumcision of boys (61% oppose), and non-stun slaughter of animals for halal or kosher (58% oppose).
