Minister: Therefore, circumcisions can continue in private homes
Now TV 2's documentary 'Circumcision behind the facade' makes two ministers react.
The documentary uncovers ritual circumcisions of boy children in Denmark - both the circumcisions that are performed illegally and those that are basically performed legally, but where complications arise.

Every year, more than 2,000 annual ritual circumcisions are performed in Denmark. The Danish Agency for Patient Safety estimates that more than half of them are not reported, even though it is a legal requirement.
The dark numbers show that the system does not work well enough, admits Magnus Heunicke.
- It is clearly unsatisfactory, he says.
According to the minister, the more than a thousand circumcisions that are not reported every year are the picture of an “undergrowth of illegalities” that exist despite the current rules.
