Dear Parliament Member,
I am writing to express my strong support for bill 183 which will criminalize circumcision (genital mutilation) of underage boys and girls, when it is not medically necessary (99.5% of the cases).
As a Jewish Israeli, I wish to let you know that there is a rapidly growing movement among Jews and among Israeli’s to leave our children intact (not-circumcised). Personally, I chose to not circumcise my son when he was born, as we now know that this is painful- even with local anesthesia, irreversible, medically unnecessary and performed without consent.
The biggest concern that would need to be addressed is how religious individuals cope with this, as we would not wish to have rogue circumcisions that later would not get medical attention if they develop complications.
I hope that the age for consent would not be set as younger than 18, because 13-15 year old boys would be subject to too much pressure from their families.Thank you for having the courage to protect children and fight for this important bill.
Sincerely,--

Hab ihnen einen Brief geschrieben, hoffe es werden noch einige mehr. Denn bisher scheint es so als wären die meisten gegen Kinderrechte.
