A 61-year-old man, believed to be the doctor who carried out the procedure, has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.
The boy's mother complained to police, saying her son was circumcised without her consent while staying with his paternal grandparents in July 2013.
A 44-year-old man and a woman, aged 47, have also been arrested.

There was a police inquiry but the force initially deemed it not to be a criminal matter, and the matter was referred to the General Medical Council.

Bakersfield Medical Centre was inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in June 2022.

The practice was rated as "requires improvement" overall and the safety of services was rated as "inadequate".

The inspection evidence table noted: "No checks were made on child patients who attended the practice for a non-therapeutic male circumcision procedure to ensure that they were not subject to child safeguarding."

The report also said "appropriate standards of cleanliness and hygiene were not met".

Man sollte nicht vergessen, dass auch der 1631d in Deutschland keine effektive Kontrolle der Zustimmung beider sorgeberechtigten Elternteile vorsieht.
Nicht mal das, nicht mal das.
Und dass es in Folge auch in Deutschland immer wieder vorkommt, dass eine Genitlaverstümmelung hinter den Rücken eines sorgeberechtigten Elternteils vorgenommen wird.
Und, wenn überhaupt mit einer lächerlichen Bewährungsstrafe abgehandelt wird.

Im Falle einer Säuglingsverstümmelung hat ein nichtehelicher Vater eh kein Einspruchsmöglichkeit, weil sich die Erteilung des Sorgerechts hinzieht und ggf. durch die Mutter noch lange, lange verzögert werden kann.
Dann ist längst tabula rasa an der kleinen Eichel.
