Young MSM also account for more than 70 percent of all new HIV infections among youths. One very obvious reason for this, according to research published in JAMA Pediatrics, is that young MSM with detectable levels of the human immunodeficiency virus are, for an unidentified reason, more likely to have sex without using a condom, even with partners who are HIV negative.
