Dieses Wochenende soll darüber debattiert werden:
the local association in Vallensbæk has made a proposal to change the
party's course in the question of circumcision of boys and actively work
for a ban on circumcision of boys under the age of 18.
This summer, the topic was high on the political agenda, when a citizen's proposal to introduce a ban on circumcision rounded 50,000 signatures and came to political debate in the parliament.
The government parties LA and the Conservatives freed their parliamentary groups free of charge, but a majority ended up rejecting the proposal, inter alia. with reference to the fact that a ban could create international turmoil and damage Denmark's reputation abroad.
The inflamed debate is now reopened at the Congress of Social Democrats, before the Congress, the party's main board has made a counter-proposal that rejects the idea of working actively for a ban.
Member of Copenhagen Citizens' Representative, Niels E. Bjerrum, and advocate for a ban called the counter proposal from management fejt.
"I actually think it's wrong that you do not fully take the step as a party that puts the protection of children in front of all other contexts. Someone has to go first, and Denmark has done before, "he says.
