"Fusion, not adhesion. The authors have improperly used the term “adhesion” to describe the connection of the childhood foreskin to the glans penis. This is incorrect. The connection is a fusion caused by sharing the balano-preputial lamina between the foreskin and the glans penis. This fusion spontaneously disintegrates over a widely variable period of years and in some cases may persist to as late as age 18.

In the box, “Guide for parents on preputial hygiene” only the first four words carry any sense: Leave the foreskin alone.
